The weather is getting colder and colder because of a cold wind from Siberia. Though the sky was completely cloudless the colour tone was wonderful warm, despite of the freezing temperature. My father and I cycled to the other side of the town to shout silhouettes from the historic centre of my beautiful town, Middelburg. In a few years their will be build a few flats and a new provincial road so I have to go here while I still can. I am going to return to this place again when there's a stunning cloud full sky, I promise. Perhaps I should have taken my film camera with me, but I forgot that. I could have taken a great double exposure. First of the silhouette, and later of a great evening sky. I'll remember it for later.
Taking this photograph was more a challenge than it seems. The sun was too bright to look directly in the viewfinder so it was hard to make a good composition. And it was cold...very cold. I wasn't able to keep my gloves on, but perhaps I am going to buy lowepro's photographers gloves. I might be able to get them cheap through my work. I tried to keep my diaphragm small, but not to small to get nice hard edges. When you view the photograph on it's original size you can see great contours in the tower, and that will look great on a large print. Perhaps I am going to use this shot in my upcoming exposition.
Edit: straightend up the tower. But it's just a wonky old tower .
wow awesome light and colours, shame the spire is wonky

It would be possible to describe everything scientifically, but it would make no sense; it would be without meaning, as if you described a Beethoven symphony as a variation of wave pressure.
Thanks, The spire is indeed wonky but they just build it wonky a few hunderd years ago. That's why I first didn't want to straighten it, but actually I am starting to think it might be better if I do so.

Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.

The photonotes.org Dictionary of Film and Digital Photography is one place to stop and get it all answered. This is quite a valuable resource that explains in depth what a photography term means, and will help those understand who might not know what something is.
